where will this all lead?

it's getting weird. i've defended dumbledore being out at least 5 times in 3 days. i know it's cliche, but count the # of major characters in the HP series. someone had to be gay. she never wrote characters to be weak. and i think it's great that she put it out there. it's not a big deal and it shouldn't be one. i don't follow why people fight so hard against nature. life's too short to be anything other than who and what you are.

So. trying some new things here.
taking the gre 11/2. i have no idea how i got through math after 5th grade. seriously, nothing stuck. my ass will once again be handed to me.
i just want to get into library school. i don't care which one. why do they make it so hard to work in education, then complain about the lack of candidates? i just want kids to read, then i can read, and we'll all be happy.
looking for a roommate who won't make fun of my harry potter love. or the fan fiction. in dc. help!
learning how to have life on my own again.
listening to lots of j-pop. i wish i spoke japanese. or that i lived in japan. both would be good.
and i'm am going to post here at least weekly. the world should be updated. ok, not really, but it's something i'm going to try.

took a trip down to Chapel Hill, staying with friends Elaine and Heather. last night we hit our Linda's, the best bar ever, for cheese fries and drinks. we're so getting old. schieber and i only had one drink, then we went for coffee at Padgett Station. It opened after we moved to DC, but it's great.
today we had a lovely lunch at Milltown, formerly Temple Ball. i wish we could stay, the have a wonderful stock of Belgian beers. my burger and sweet tea was awesome.
then we were off to A Southern Season for my scottish breakfast tea. mmmm, tea.
anyway. i'm relaxed. time for a coffee.

so yeah, went to NYC for a comic convention. luckily, there was a ton of anime and manga stuff to enjoy. i bought 2 new yaoi mangas which clearly disturbs the bf. and kevin smith was there. he's a funny, foul-mouth bastard. i feel bad for him though, most of the people lining up to ask him questions came off as opportunistic, annoying, or just plain stupid.

BLEACH on a giant screen was awesome!

had dinner at a swanky tapas place near Times Square, called Tilton. we had a great server who clearly enjoyed gently mocking the tourists.
we started with a kick-ass cheese plate and wonderful olive boule.
schieber had a decent skirt steak with salad and fries and i had a serrano ham sandwich. it was all good, but the fries were excellent. best we've had since france.

also had 2 meals at the skylight diner. good, food, great price and service. i love diners though, so use a grain of salt there.

so, I'm going to try and post more often about stuff i know and not be boring and vaguely angst-y.

ok, anybody got any suggestions for nights in london? i think we're staying in islington near kings cross. i want something fun that reveolves around alcohol. or harry potter. we don't want to be the annoying americans in the corner who don't talk to anyone. you will have my eternal thanks!

why did i come ito fanfiction so late?! so much to read, and wasting 8 hours at work not reading it!

i love temping. equal parts working, learning and playing online. it amazes me how worn out you get on the commute. you start and end the day tired!

i had one today. ok, it wasn't a new one. i don't know what's going on, in general or in my life. working on it. but at least i had a good day. i'm new here, so take it easy on me.
